This is an interesting one. It could be we are raising our hands to our cheeks to hide the blushing that we feel in our cheeks. It could also mean that we are modest, and want to hide our joy- because after all there are others that have lost.

What is even more interesting about this particular picture, winners have been taught- modeling- to mimic the gestures of other previous winners. Next time you see the winner, carefully watch how long the gesture is held; it is likely it is over 2-3 seconds and that is a usual signal that the gesture is not heartfelt because it is held longer than most normal gestures.◦
