Arizona Governor, Obama in 'tense' Exchange over Her Book

Haraz N. Ghanbari / AP
Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer points at President Barack Obama after he arrived at the Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport, Wednesday. Brewer greeted Obama and what she got was a book critique.

Politics aside, this is a great picture.

Dominance is shown by the Governor by pointing at the President, and we see the President dismissing her show of aggression by patting her other arm (a gesture that says, okay, okay now.) We also see the President bending into her personal space.

I heard the President simply walked away as she continued to talk.◦

I think this is very disrespectful on her part. If she has issues with him, she could have taken it up with him in private.

She was show-boating for the cameras.

Funny that she got this wound up over....her book. too bad she doesn't get this wound up about the people she represents.

In my opinion it is President Obama who is showboating. He displays narcissistic behavior quite frequently from what I have seen. He did the same thing with Governor Jindal. http://www.politico.com/news/stories/1110/45021.html

Again only my opinion, but I can understand how Governor Brewer might feel. This President tries to come off as cool and collected while inside he is seething that someone would dare write something that doesnt put him in the best light.

Kathy, you are soo funny? Look at this picture and ask yourself, "Who is shaking their finger at their superior? Now ask yourself who is trying to calm the situation and be rational?

He seems calm and collected on the outside? I agree. He is seething on the inside? Hilarious! How would you have any clue as to what he is feeling on the inside? His body language shows zero indication of 'seething'!

Michael,
Using only the picture as a reference, Gov. Brewer appears to be the aggressor and the President is attempting to calm her down. Our Spying for Lying host states: "Politics aside, this is a great picture." You brought your personal opinion and politics into your comment about the picture and I brought in the other side. Because we both think we know the background to what led to this picture, we gave our opinions as to what might be transpiring. I provided a link to an article that shows that the President has a pattern of behavior when it comes to others writing things about him that he doesnt like. The reports are that the first thing the President said to Gov. Brewer on the tarmac was something about how he didnt like what she had written about him in her book. Maybe he should have waited until they were in private to discuss such matters? :)
