I haven't really talked about Lie to Me this season; simply because it has matured.
All the science is still there, it is just not so professorial and teaching the viewer every step of the way like the first season did- which is great for those of us that understand more than the average person about the science.
For the beginner it means there are still plenty of learning opportunities, you just need to rewind the show after someone from the Lightman Group states "you're lying" or "you're not sad," and then review the facial expression or nonverbal clue that led to their statement and conclusion(s).

Interesting Study: The Impact of Lie to Me on Viewers’ Actual Ability to Detect Deception
The new television series Lie to Me portrays a social scientist solving crimes through his ability to read nonverbal communication. Promotional materials claim the content is based on actual science. Participants (N = 108) watched an episode of Lie to Me, a different drama, or no program and then judged a series of honest and deceptive interviews. Lie to Me viewers were no better at distinguishing truths from lies but were more likely than control participants to misidentify honest interviewees as deceptive. Watching Lie to Me decreases truth bias thereby increasing suspicion of others while at the same time reducing deception detection ability.

Just read news release - LIE TO ME is returning June 7th.
This will allow it to flourish in the otherwise dull summer TV season; it is likely they will be able to continue into the new fall season with little intruption- provided Tim keeps his movie schedule clear. The shows airing this summer are practically "in the can" and Tim Roth is scheduled to begin filming "The Absinthe Drinkers" in April 2010; this should be completed in time to start filming the third season.◦

Lie to Me
I've been getting some emails asking about Lie to Me and if and when it returns.
This is what I know:
About a month and a half ago Fox asked for a full season, which means their will be another 9 shows. They are currently filming episodes, and they just put out a casting call for the 15th show of this season. The earliest we could see it return would be mid February because the original 8 episodes are re airing and this will continue until then. Officially nothing has been released by Fox or the producers other than returning sometime in the spring. Since the new shows will span into summer, there could be problems with getting the third season... it is still pulling in good numbers just a scheduling/timing thing.
There are a few people who work on the show who visit the site so maybe we might get some more information in the comments sections. Give us something to go on...◦

The first season is more scientific and explanation based than the current season, it is a must have for your DVD collection. There will be an end to the current season and that would be a perfect time to go back and rediscover LIE TO ME again.◦

Last week I mentioned this gesture when Torres did it, this week we can see it when Lightman does it.
This gesture can have several meanings depending on the context: I got caught, gleeful excitement, I got away with something, I am naughty, or I did something foolish.
In this case it means I got away with something.◦

Garret Dillahunt will be guest-starring in tonight's episode of Lie to Me.
Garret will play a guy, who takes Lightman hostage in order to prove his innocence regarding his wife’s death. He’s been in trouble with the law before and made lots of enemies. He feels guilty for dragging his wife into his dangerous world and will do anything to clear his name and find the real killer.◦

Erika Christensen will Guest Star on Lie to Me Tonight!
The Lightman Group investigates a murder case where a woman with multiple personalities (guest star Christensen) may either be a witness or the killer. A Georgetown law student, Tricia comes to Dr. Lightman (Tim Roth) for help when she has a psychic vision of a murder. During his investigation, Lightman discovers that Tricia is actually Sophie, a woman suffering from multiple personality disorder, whose alters also include Jessie, a prostitute, and R.J., the mute male protector of the other personalities…
