Whitehouse Gatecrashers, The Salahis, Hold Melbourne Press Conference

Tareq Salahi and Michaele Salahi pose at a press conference with the USA Polo Team on February 4, 2010 in Melbourne, Australia. Tareq Salahi is the captain of the USA Polo Team who will play against the Victorian representative team. Michaele and Tareq Salahi are the infamous couple who gatecrashed a White House state dinner for Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in 2009.
It may be that Michaele Salahi has done some modeling in the past so she knows how to "act" when being photgraphed, but in every picture she is sending clear signals she is "into" her man. Notice her body positioning and body language in each of these photographs. What man wouldn't want to see his wife look at him they way she does?

Faked Smile
Virginie Ledoyen attending the Sidaction Gala 'Diner de la Mode' held at the Pavillon d'Armenonville in Paris, France on January 28, 2010.
Whenever a facial expression is larger on one part of the face, it is likely a faked emotion. Here we clearly see one side of her face more involved in creating a smile.◦

Poker Series: Varied Bet Sizes Before the Flop
It amazes me when I see this, and it is happening right now on at least 25% of the online tables...Right Now!!!
Some players will bet two times the blind on marginal hands and four times on the top hands, and check on the semi dogs (hoping for a straight draw). There are about ten different variations on this, but they all mean this one simple thing to you- Once you figure out the betting strategy, bet and re raise to exploit the information you have.
If someone is attempting to "fake" this, it is pretty hard to do it too many times because you learn quickly what is going on. The fakers will inevitability do "something different" (if playing in person) like taking too long to commit or the reverse by quickly pushing in their bet; talking too little or too much compared to usual; something out of the norm. They will also be trying to slow play more often that not. Plus good players will not fake this because it doesn't help their table image (of the style of play such as tight or loose).◦

Grabbing the Package

Rapper Lil Wayne performs onstage during the 52nd Annual GRAMMY Awards held at Staples Center on January 31, 2010 in Los Angeles, California.
Being a site that talks about gestures, I can no longer ignore this one...
What may surprise you this gesture (and variations of it) have been around since the beginning of time. It has had several meanings through time. In early days it was always an insult, and worldwide (in different cultures) it likely continues to be an insult.
In America, a couple of decades ago, a superstar brought it back in vogue. Can you guess who? Michael Jackson.
Today it most often is seen as it is seen here, on stage. It's meaning depends totally on the context of the song. It can say "I'm sexual" but it also can say "I don't respect women" if the content of lyrics demean women.◦

iPhone App Review: Body Talk

Pros:
This has a wide variety of body language reference materials. They have categories: Body Part; Motivation; and significance.
You can see a picture with a real actors, get a definition, and can even play a video of the gesture. You also are told if the action is Positive/Negative/Dismissive/Neutral/etc.
Cons:
While the reference section is good, it is not as good as a book on the subject. I find myself not using this part of the tool.
Should you BUY, give it a TRY, find a LIE, or forget it in a BLINK OF THE EYE?
New to the field, BUY
Expert in the field, you might want to give it a TRY
With this App you can determine positive and negative emotions of gestures and if that does not match their words you might, find a LIE
I wouldn't forget this App in a BLINK OF THE EYE
It costs $1.99 cents.◦

Prayer Gesture

An Andy Murray fan reacts whilst watching the Australian Open Final between Great Britain's Andy Murray and Switzerland's Rodger Federer, at The Dunblane Hotel on January 21, 2010 in Dunblane , Scotland. Federer won the final in three sets.
This should not be confused with the high confidence steeple gesture.
Here we see a fan using this gesture -probably subconsciously- to give strength and possibly divine intervention... it likely gives her some inner peace during a stressful situation.
By placing the hands in front of her mouth it is also a clear sign she is not going to speak, at least for the time being. She may even be manipulating her bottom lip into a pout.◦

Come to Wired.com’s Biometric Super Bowl Party
One week until the Super Bowl and my team is going to be there!!!
This article isn't closely related to body language or facial expressions, but it has everything to do with emotions. I have been watching this company for the last year and find their work interesting, Innerscope Research.
Innerscope measures the physiological responses to the ads.◦
