Whenever we hide our hands behind our back it must be evaluated in the context of what is occurring. This is a common pose amongst royalty, where they are secure enough not to worry about the frontal attack. When it is done to hide the hands it is a sign of unwillingness to be open, and since it would be hard to greet another with a handshake or hug it sends a signal that they would prefer to not speak.◦
